Jenkins & AI

Jenkins has survived every tech wave so far. Yet in the AI era, it still feels largely the same.

When do you think CI/CD tools will become truly AI-native?

Imagine Jenkins that can:

• Generate pipelines from plain English
• Auto-fix failed builds
• Predict flaky tests before execution
• Optimize pipeline execution costs

Are we close, or will a new AI-first tool eventually replace Jenkins altogether?

I don't think Jenkins will disappear anytime soon. Enterprises have invested too much in it. More likely, AI will become a layer on top of existing CI/CD tools, handling pipeline generation, failure analysis, flaky test prediction, and optimization while Jenkins remains the execution engine, at least for the foreseeable future.
